Instructions
Prepare the FillingIn a mixing bowl, combine the finely chopped shrimp, scallions, garlic, ginger, soy sauce, sesame oil, and cornstarch. Season with salt and pepper. Mix well until the ingredients are evenly distributed.
Assemble the WontonsPlace a wonton wrapper on a clean surface. Spoon about a teaspoon of the shrimp mixture into the center of the wrapper.
Moisten the edges of the wrapper with water, fold in half to form a triangle, and press the edges to seal, ensuring no filling escapes. For added security, you can also pinch the edges for a tighter seal.
Fry the WontonsHeat a generous amount of vegetable oil in a frying pan or deep fryer to 350°F (175°C).
Carefully slide the wontons into the hot oil, working in batches to avoid overcrowding. Fry for 2-3 minutes or until golden brown and crispy.
Use a slotted spoon to transfer the wontons to a plate lined with paper towels to drain excess oil.
ServeAllow the wontons to cool slightly, then serve them warm with your choice of dipping sauces, such as sweet chili sauce or soy sauce.
