Cinnamon Pear Galette Serving Suggestions
The Rustic Cinnamon Pear Galette is best enjoyed fresh out of the oven, still warm and fragrant. Serve it on its own or elevate the experience with these delightful serving suggestions:
- A Dollop of Whipped Cream: Top each slice with a dollop of freshly whipped cream or a scoop of vanilla ice cream. The creamy addition balances the flavors and adds a touch of indulgence.
- Sprinkle of Powdered Sugar: Dust a light layer of powdered sugar over the galette just before serving. It adds a beautiful finishing touch and enhances the visual appeal.
- Accompanying Hot Beverage: Enjoy a slice of galette with a cup of steaming hot coffee, tea, or spiced cider. The warm and cozy combination will make your autumn moments even more enjoyable.
Storage and Shelf Life
If you have any leftovers (which is rare!), follow these storage guidelines to ensure the best taste and texture:
- Room Temperature: The galette can be stored at room temperature for up to 2 days. Cover it loosely with aluminum foil or place it under a cake dome to protect it from drying out.
- Refrigerator: To extend its shelf life, you can refrigerate the galette for up to 4 days. Cover it tightly with plastic wrap or transfer it to an airtight container.
- Reheating: To reheat a slice, place it in a preheated oven at 325°F (160°C) for about 10 minutes, or until warmed through. This helps to revive the flakiness of the crust.
Expert Tips
Here are some expert tips to ensure your Rustic Cinnamon Pear Galette turns out perfectly:
- Choosing the Right Pears: Opt for firm, ripe pears that are not overly soft. This ensures they hold their shape during baking and provide a delightful texture.
- Keeping the Dough Cold: Work quickly to prevent the butter in the dough from melting. If it becomes too soft while rolling, place it in the refrigerator for a few minutes to firm up.
- Parchment Paper for Easy Transfer: Use parchment paper to line your baking sheet. It not only prevents the galette from sticking but also makes it easier to transfer to a serving platter.
- Tasting the Pears: Before assembling the galette, taste a slice of the pear to determine its sweetness. Adjust the amount of sugar accordingly, as the sweetness of pears can vary.
- Venting the Galette: To prevent the filling from becoming too watery, create a few small vents on top of the Galette before baking. This allows steam to escape and helps the pears cook evenly.
- Letting it Cool: Allow the galette to cool for about 15 minutes before serving. This allows the filling to set slightly, making it easier to slice without losing its shape.

Dolores says
Made this today 1.24.2025. I used Asian Pears and it turned out pretty good. I think next time I will put the parchment paper with the crust into a larger pie plate or other rimmed baking dish because the liquid flowed out onto the parchment paper. It would have stayed in where it belonged if I would have used a pie plate. Still, it was good. Crust was delicious! I don't have a food processor so I had to cut the butter in with a pastry cutter/blender.
Thanks for this recipe!
