As much as I love my desserts and cakes; I also prefer eating balanced healthy wholesome food. And including them in my lifestyle is mandatory. overnight oats with good protein is one good idea for a wholesome breakfast.
How to make overnight protein oats
Overnight Protein oats, is just our simple overnight oats tweaked to make overnight protein oats.
You make these even more healthier, nutritious and wholesome; by adding in protein
The Best thing about this recipe is that it is gluten-free, vegan friendly, and has no added sugar.
Ingredients you will need
Rolled oats - good old fashioned rolled oats, not the instant or quick-cooking oats
Milk - Milk of your choice - Dairy-free, almond milk, oats milk, soy, coconut.
Yogurt - you can use greek yogurt, flavoured yogurt
Sweetener - optional xylitol/erythritol/stevia or honey or maple syrup. just to lightly
These are the basic ingredients for overnight oats.
In a bowl or mason jar, add the oats, pour the milk and yogurt, or just the milk. Mix, close the lid. Store in the refrigerator.
To serve bring it out, top it with your favorite toppings and it's ready to eat.

Topping Ideas
- Berries - The best low calorie and highly nutritious fruits. Blackberries, Blueberries, Strawberries, raspberries, goji berries or a full helping of mixed berries.
- Fruits - Use fruits like Bananas, apples, kiwis, Orange, Pears, Mango
- Protein toppings - nut butters, Nuts, Seeds like chia, flax, hemp or pumpkin
- Dark chocolate chips, Granola, or a fistful of muesli.
To be honest, you can go wild or just skimp on your toppings. All just according to what you like. But, I recommend keeping around 2 to 3 toppings. The more toppings you add, you blindly add in calories. Which I'm sure you do not want to do that.

Overnight Protein Oats Recipe
Ingredients
- ½ cup Rolled oats
- 1 cup Almond Milk (milk of your choice( some extra for topping))
- 1 scoop protein powder vanilla flavoured preferably (whey protein or plant based protein powder)
- ½ tablespoon honey (or maple syrup - optional)
For Toppings
- 4 - 5 nos strawberries sliced
- 1 tablespoon peanut butter
- 1 tablespoon dark chocolate chips
Instructions
- In a Mason jar or a bowl, add in the oats, pour in 1 cup the almond milk, vanilla extract. Cover the lid. Store in the refrigerator overnight
- To Serve/Or to Eat - Bring it out of the refrigerator. Add protein powder. Some extra milk if needed. Honey or maple syrup. Mix well onceTop it up with Sliced Strawberries, drizzle peanut butter and throw in some dark chocolate chips
Notes
- You may use any type of milk you wish to.
- You may also use ½ cup greek yoghurt. In that case reduce the milk to ½ cup
- protein powder about 1 scoop. Each scoop of protein powder has anywhere between 15 to 25 grams of protein. So use protein powder accordingly.
- For Vegans - Use a plant based milk, maple syrup/date syrup and plant based protein powder.
