So,
What Does Condensed Milk Do In Brownies?
Condensed milk plays a crucial role in brownie recipes by contributing to their texture, flavor, and overall richness. Here's what condensed milk does to brownies:
- Adds Moisture: Condensed milk is thick and creamy, so, that adds moisture to the brownie batter. It helps creates a moist texture, making the brownies soft and fudgy.
- Distinct Sweetness: Condensed milk is sweetened, so it adds a pleasant level of sweetness to the brownies. This sweetness enhances the overall flavor profile of the brownies, making them more enjoyable to eat.
- Creaminess: The natural creaminess of condensed milk adds a smooth and velvety texture to the brownies. It contributes to their melt-in-your-mouth consistency and makes them even more indulgent.
- Binding Agent: Condensed milk acts as a binding agent in the absence of eggs in eggless brownie recipes. It helps hold the ingredients together and gives structure to the brownies.
- Flavor Enhancement: Condensed milk has a distinct caramelized flavor due to the process of simmering milk and sugar together. This flavor subtly enhances the taste of the brownies, adding a delightful depth and richness.

This Brownie Recipe with condensed milk is super simple, It uses cocoa powder for the base chocolate flavour and is based on my Easy Cocoa Brownies, but this one is made Eggless and with condensed milk
Ingredients:
all-purpose flour - The base of all brownies or any baked goodie. Just plain all purpose flour, if youre
unsweetened cocoa powder - Plain unsweetened cocoa powder is what you will need here.
baking powder - a tad bid of baking powder for that light leavening.
Salt - To balance out all the sweetness
vegetable oil - In this recipe, we will be using vegetable oil or melted butter, and it its fairly less, because of the fat content that is already present in condensed milk
condensed milk - condensed milk consists, of moisture, added flavor, and contributes to texture. So adjust sugar, in case you need to add more of sweetness, but I do not recommend it.
chocolate chips or chunks (dark, milk, or semi-sweet) - a mix of all three types of chocolate chips
Instructions:
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a square baking pan with parchment paper.
In a mixing bowl, sift together the all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
In another bowl, whisk together the vegetable oil, condensed milk, and vanilla extract until well combined and smooth.
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
Fold in the chocolate chips and chopped chocolate, ensuring they are evenly distributed throughout the batter.
Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread it out evenly using a spatula.
Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs. Be careful not to overbake.
Remove from the oven and let the brownies cool completely in the pan. This will allow them to set and develop a fudgy texture.
Once cooled, cut the brownies into squares or desired shapes. Serve and enjoy!

Storing and Freezing Brownies
- Room Temperature: Brownies can be stored at room temperature in an airtight container or tightly wrapped with plastic wrap. They should be kept in a cool and dry place away from direct sunlight. When stored properly, brownies can last for up to 3 to 4 days at room temperature.
- Refrigeration: If you live in a hot or humid climate, or if your brownies have perishable fillings like cream cheese, it is recommended to store them in the refrigerator. Place the brownies in an airtight container or cover them tightly with plastic wrap. Properly stored, brownies can last for up to 5 to 7 days in the refrigerator.
- Freezing: Brownies can also be frozen for longer-term storage. Wrap individual portions or the entire batch tightly in plastic wrap and then place them in an airtight container or freezer bag. Properly frozen, brownies can last for up to 2 to 3 months.
To thaw frozen brownies, simply remove them from the freezer and let them come to room temperature on the counter. This may take a few hours. You can also heat them in the microwave for a few seconds or in a preheated oven at a low temperature until warmed through.

Notes
- Use Good-Quality Condensed Milk: Opt for a high-quality condensed milk brand for the best results. The quality of the condensed milk will directly impact the flavor and texture of your brownies.
- Adjust the Sugar: Condensed milk is already sweetened, so be mindful of the additional sugar you add to the recipe. Taste the batter before baking and adjust the amount of sugar accordingly.
- Don't Overmix: When incorporating the condensed milk into the brownie batter, mix until just combined. Overmixing can lead to dense and tough brownies.
- Add Mix-ins: Customize your condensed milk brownies by adding mix-ins like chocolate chips, nuts, or dried fruits. These additions can elevate the flavor and texture of your brownies.
- Grease the Pan: To prevent the brownies from sticking to the pan, make sure to grease it well before pouring in the batter. You can use butter or cooking spray for this purpose.
- Line the Pan with Parchment Paper: For easy removal and clean slices, line the baking pan with parchment paper, leaving some overhang on the sides. This will allow you to lift the brownies out of the pan once cooled.
- Don't Overbake: Keep a close eye on the baking time to avoid overbaking the brownies. The condensed milk helps keep them moist, so be sure to take them out of the oven when they are just set and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
- Let Them Cool Completely: Allow the brownies to cool completely in the pan before cutting. This will help them set and firm up, making it easier to slice them into neat squares.
- Chill for Firmer Texture: If you prefer a firmer texture, refrigerate the brownies for a few hours before cutting and serving. Chilled condensed milk brownies have a denser and fudgier consistency.
- Serve with Ice Cream or Whipped Cream: For extra indulgence, serve the condensed milk brownies with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of freshly whipped cream. The creamy accompaniment pairs perfectly with the rich and fudgy brownies.
