So what ingredients do you need?
It is so easy to get these ingredients in hand - just these few
Cocoa powder - Pure unsweetened cocoa powder
Sugar - plain white granulated sugar.
Vanilla and water - vanilla extract.
And all it takes is 5 to 10 mins. From start to finish.
Just boil water and sugar, on medium-low flame, until sugar is dissolved. Remove from heat.
Then sift in the cocoa powder, and whisk continuously. So that there are no lumps forming. Once all the cocoa powder is blended.
At this point, you may add butter or corn syrup or cream.
Remove from heat.
Let it come down to room temperature. Then store in an air tight container

Equipment you will need
Ingredients
- 1 cup Water
- 1 cup Sugar
- 4 tablespoon Cocoa powder
- 1 tablespoon Vanilla Extract (optional)
Instructions
- In a Sauce pan, add water and sugar. Bring it to a boil, until the sugar is dissolved.
- Once the sugar is completely dissolved. switch off heat.
- Sift in cocoa powder in to the sugar syrup. whisk until no lumps are seen. Add in vanilla extract.
- Run the sauce through a fine strainer.
- Transfer to a mason jar, close the lid tight. Store at room temperature.
Notes
- The sauce when finished will be thin and watery. But it will get thick eventually on cooling.
- Make sure the jar is clean and dry.
